Meet the Team!

Tom graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Economics at the age of 19. He became a management consultant at Oliver Wyman, working on projects across the UK and Europe, but most enjoyed the pro-bono projects he worked on with major national charities, and small local organisations. He has since been writing code for 7 years, and working in the voluntary sector for 8. Tom was born in Liverpool, grew up in Essex, and now lives in North London.

Will graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Natural Sciences and a Masters in Systems Biology. After university, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant, helping companies and charities across the country. Since joining Plinth, he has visited and spoke to hundreds of community groups about how they manage their clients, their data and their activities, and how organisations can improve the way they evaluate and increase their impact. Will grew up in Kent, and now lives in West London.

Ceci founded a charity society at Edinburgh University, where she graduated with a degree in History. The society grew significantly over her three years as President, running weekly food hand outs in summer and hot water bottle distributions in winter, working closely with Social Bite and Crisis. In the pandemic Ceci also started a small business, creating and selling illustrated poems to raise money for NHS Charities Together. Ceci strongly believes that the right support can give people struggling through hardship the opportunity to turn their lives around. Ceci grew up in North Yorkshire and now lives in East London.

Chris has been writing code since he was 13. He graduated from Kent University with a degree in Computer Science, and after university, he left his small town and moved across the pond to work for Cisco in San Francisco in their innovation team. He returned to London to do a Masters degree in Data Science at UCL, to set up his own business helping pubs take mobile orders, and to hike the length and breadth of the UK. He grew up in St Albans, now lives in South London, and particularly enjoys talking about Art, Architecture and how to fix any problems with Plinth.

Jess moved to London from the US in order to study Social Policy at LSE, writing about segregation and housing discrimination in her home town of Milwaukee. And after hiking the length of the USA and helping her previous start-up double in size, Jess decided she needed another challenge and joined Plinth. Self-described government nerd she loves talking about the best ways to drive positive change in society and losing in office typing races. When not being the best ambassador for the state of Wisconsin, Jess can be found somewhere around East London.

Sean graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He has an extensive experience in social mobility, youth empowerment and political activism particularly for Muslim and Caribbean communities. Having started his career in the Civil Service he transitioned into TechForGood startups, exploring how technology can be utilised for societal benefit, first focusing on Net Zero and now social impact. Alongside this he also has a popular online presence, generating over 10+ million views on his social commentary. Sean was born and raised in North London.

Nino is an experienced software engineer with a passion for building products that make a difference. He has a degree in Physics from the University of Kiel, Germany. At work, he's built AI products for managing property portfolios, and he strives to make the world a nicer place by donating 10% of his salary to effective charities. Out of work, he's a keen amateur trapeze artist, and avid tinkerer with strong opinions on software and engineering in general.

Maria graduated from Cambridge with a double-first in Theology, Religion and Philosophy of Religion. Over the past seven years, Maria has collaborated with over 10 charities through volunteering, fundraising and internships. After University, Maria spent 3 months in Malawi volunteering and learning about on the ground charity implementation. Alongside charity volunteering, Maria is a keynote speaker for Catholic events across the UK as well as a host for a national Catholic Radio Station. Maria grew up in North Yorkshire, is a proud aunty and the youngest of four.

Chris studied Theology at the University of Nottingham before completing a Masters at the University of Cambridge. After Cambridge, he co-founded TimeNavi and bootstrapped it into a profitable business with 500k+ downloads. He's also seen the charity world up close: over seven years he's volunteered with CAFOD, Youth 2000 and The Ascent, and co-founded the Catholic Student Network, running events and working with teams of all sizes. Recently, Chris cycled across France, spent time in a monastery on a silent retreat, and then joined Plinth. He grew up in a small village in Buckinghamshire and now lives in Cambridge.

Joe moved from Cardiff to London to study at Imperial College London, graduating with a Masters degree in Physics. After university, he stayed in the London, applying his analytical background to the education and public sectors with roles at GovernorHub and the Greater London Authority. He then spent three years at a fast-growing employee benefits startup before bringing his mix of public sector and tech experience to Plinth. Outside of work, he is a keen runner and loves heading off on a cycle touring trip.

Ben graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Computer Science, where he led Codelab Loughborough, a student-run society aimed at building foundational programming skills for students from non-STEM backgrounds, and was a keen volunteer with Loughborough Action, supporting local community projects. After university, he moved to Canada and spent three years in the outdoor industry, leading multi-day canoe trips for a youth camp and working as a raft guide in the Rockies. Outside of work, Ben loves camping, baking and jumping into bodies of cold water. Originally from North London, he is the youngest of four brothers. His mum's fourth attempt at a girl.

Tarun graduated from Oxford University with a Masters in physics. He has since spent time working across a range of startups in both client-facing and software engineering roles. He is passionate about using his technical skills to drive forward products that create real-world impact. Outside of work, Tarun is a keen cricket and hockey player, and a passionate ambassador for the Tamil film industry.

Annie brings a mix of social impact, fundraising and strategy experience to Plinth. Most recently, she supported a clean energy infrastructure startup through its journey to post-revenue, leading on investor relations and post-acquisition integration. She holds an MSc in Management from LSE, where she focused on consumer behaviour, and previously worked at the PwC Foundation, where she supported projects strengthening children and young people in their cultural and values-based education. Annie began her career with a BA in International and Cultural Business Studies at the University of Passau in Germany, and during a semester abroad at the University of St Andrews she led marketing for a student upcycling venture.

Dominique graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Business Studies. After university, she moved to London to work for HSBC, before making a deliberate shift into work she found more meaningful, supporting young people experiencing mental health challenges. That move took her into the charity sector, where she joined Frontline and completed the Frontline Programme, developing deep expertise in social work with children and families. Most recently, she worked at Camden Council as a Child Protection Social Worker, bringing that frontline public sector knowledge directly to her work at Plinth. Outside of work, Dominique volunteers with Care to Dance, helping care-experienced young people build confidence through dance.

Daisy studied Geography and then African Studies at Cambridge, before two years as an analyst in the City, long enough to know it wasn't the plan. At 24 she moved to Uganda to found a startup teaching young people to code, and has worked in tech for good ever since: overhauling operations at Bidhaa Sasa, a Kenyan social enterprise, then leading digital programmes at the charity Producers Direct, bringing AI to smallholder farmers and building tools to measure impact. She now runs operations at Plinth, having spent years delivering the kind of programmes its tools are built for. Daisy grew up in Kent, lives in South London, and spends most Friday evenings covered in clay at the pottery wheel.

Emily studied international development at the London School of Economics before moving to Cambodia, where she rebranded and scaled a social enterprise called Village Women Dream, which she still runs today. At Plinth she's excited to bring her experience to fundraising teams, and to help them raise more money for work that matters. Outside of Plinth, Emily is a passionate yoga, breathwork, and meditation teacher. She is often singing, sometimes surfing, always barefoot.

Akua graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences. She has always been drawn to enacting change and creating impact. She worked for The Black Curriculum, a social enterprise campaigning to embed Black British history into the national curriculum, where she was part of efforts to work with government and push for policy change towards a wider, more representative curriculum. Outside of work, Akua is also a hairstylist and runs her own business. Akua was born and raised in East London, having also spent three years living in Ghana from the age of six.

Eleanor graduated from Bristol top in her year with a degree in Liberal Arts (history major). Alongside her degree Eleanor worked and volunteered with various charities including St Luke's where she ran cooking classes for children on free school meals. She also lived in Honduras for a year, teaching English and PE in rural village schools and perfected her tortilla making skills. Outside of work, Eleanor is a keen long-distance runner (faster than both of her brothers) and a muesli lover. She grew up in Beckley, a small village outside Oxford.
